Education Services
Professional Education:
Critical Decision, FLDRN's all-day educational
seminar for nursing personnel about the organ donation process,
is offered several times throughout the year. Those attending the
seminar receive 6.1 contact hours of continuing education credit.
The dates are on our calender
of events. Email us at info@donorrecovery.org
to register for class or to request information.
Registered Nurses Advisory Committee (RNAC) serves
to promote communication between FLDRN and the hospitals in our
service area. The committee, comprised of FLRDN staff and at least
one representative from each of the hospitals, meets three times
a year to discuss organ and tissue donation and to share ideas.
Community Education
FLDRN is a member of Council for Donation of Organs and Tissues
(C-DOT) and our personnel assist at many community events throughout
the year.
The FLDRN speakers bureau, consisting of medical personnel, donor
family members, and transplant recipients, provides speakers free
of charge to schools, colleges, church groups, service organizations,
and others interested in learning more about transplantation.
We have displays in many different sizes available for health fairs
and community service events. FLDRN also has printed materials,
including brochures and donor cards, available free of charge. Email
us at info@donorrecovery.org
to request supplies or to set up a display at your upcoming event.
FLDRN has teamed up with our Rotary Districts to help them in their
efforts to promote "Share your life - Give of Yourself!"
organ and tissue donor education program. We are working closely
with our local eye and tissue bank (Rochester Eye & Tissue Bank)
to provide speakers at their meetings to inform members about organ
and tissue donation and encourage them to sign up to be organ donors.
