Announcing Several FLDRN Staff Appointments

Finger Lakes Donor Recovery Network has announced a number of additions and changes to its staff. The appointments include that of Nancy Ryan who is promoted as the organ procurement organization’s first head of marketing and community relations.

“These appointments reflect Finger Lakes Donor Recovery Network’s ongoing commitment to providing information, support and professional services with regards to organ donation in our hospitals and communities,” said Rob Kochik, FLDRN’s executive director.

Nancy Ryan

Nancy Ryan has been named FLDRN’s first-ever Director of Marketing and Community Relations. Prior to being promoted to this new position, Nancy served two years as a Hospital Development Associate with FLDRN and has 15 years of experience in advancement, marketing and communications in higher education and healthcare.

Her new role will focus primarily on developing marketing initiatives and promoting awareness of organ donation in the community and through professional partnerships.

Patti Knapp

Patti Knapp, RN, MSN, was appointed Hospital Development Liaison, overseeing the collaborative development of relationships and facilitating policy updates and education on organ donation at hospitals in the western region of FLDRN’s donation service area.

She has been with FLDRN since 2012 as an Organ Procurement Coordinator, and has over 30 years of nursing, teaching and program development experience.

 

Three Organ Procurement Coordinators have joined the FLDRN team in the past year:

  • Kafia Abdoch comes to the organ procurement organization from the Center for Donation and Transplant in Albany where she also was an Organ Procurement Coordinator.
  • Caroline Kamp, LPN, previously worked in the NeuroMedicine ICU at Strong Memorial Hospital and also has experience in pediatric nursing.
  • Arlene O’Brien, RN, has 19 years of experience on various units at Strong Hospital, including Burn Trauma ICU and NeuroMedicine ICU.
