Heart Transplant Recipient Aisha O’Mally Is Grateful for Her Second Chance at Life
The heart transplant team at the UR Medicine’s Strong Memorial Hospital is responsible for saving the lives of 190 men and women in Rochester, including News 8’s Scott Hetsko.
As Scott continues to recover, another heart transplant recipient tells us how far she’s come since she received her new heart. When Aisha O’Mally heard Scott Hetsko needed a heart transplant, she took special notice.
“Man, I know what he’s going through. I know exactly what he’s going through,” she says.
Aisha and Scott are in the same, elite club: patients who’ve received heart transplant’s from UR Medicine’s Strong Memorial hospital. Aisha received her new heart 11 years ago.
“I’ve done so much with the second chance,” she says.
